In this hands-on workshop, we will share practical strategies for use on real trips, from menu planning to dehydrating and rehydrating in the backcountry.
We will share and make some of our favourite Canadian Canoe Museum tried and true trip meals, from simple meals like pasta with tomato sauce and soups to more involved options such as chili, burritos, curries, hummus, lasagna and trail snacks. Along the way, you will learn to measure and portion food for different group sizes and prepare meals using dehydrating and rehydrating techniques.
Our experienced guides will demonstrate a few different cooking systems while also walking you through food organization, container choices, and efficient packing. Leave with recipes, planning tools, and practical ideas you can use on your next canoe trip.
