This non-certification solo canoe course introduces the foundations of paddling a canoe on your own using elements of the Canadian Freestyle method. Canadian Freestyle focuses on efficient, controlled movements that help you maneuver a canoe smoothly on your own.
Led by experienced instructor Trevor White, this hands-on course helps you build comfort and confidence paddling solo. You will spend time on the water practicing stroke control, boat positioning, and smooth directional changes in real conditions.
Set on the Museum’s Lakefront Campus and Little Lake in Peterborough, this course offers a supportive environment to learn solo canoe skills at a comfortable pace.
