Inspired by the real-life events of 1926, the film tells the story of a group of teenage boys who arrive at Long Point Camp for the adventure of their lives. When their canoe capsizes in a sudden summer storm, their holiday descends into a harrowing fight for survival.
Following the screening, writer and director Richard Bell, along with several members of the cast, will take part in a Q&A exploring the real-life tragedy that inspired the film and the process of bringing it to the screen.
The film is rated PG and contains scenes of peril and depictions of a tragic historical event. Parental guidance is advised.
Drinks and light refreshments will be available before the screening.
This event is part of The Canadian Canoe Museum’s Speaker Series.
